Bastia is a natural slate from France, characterized by its uniform grey tone and a smooth, slightly textured surface. The stone displays a subtle grain pattern that adds depth without overt veining, making it ideal for both contemporary and classic applications. Architects and designers favor Bastia for flooring, wall cladding, and outdoor paving, where its durability and slip resistance are essential. Suitable finishes include honed, brushed, and lightly polished, each enhancing the stone's natural elegance. Marmi di Carrara supplies Bastia in robust blocks and ready-to-install slabs of 2‑3 cm thickness, offering cut‑to‑size service and real‑time photos of actual slabs before purchase.
