Noce Travertine: the complete guide
Overview
Noce Travertine is a travertine in brown and hazelnut tones, with the typical porous banded structure. It is chosen to bring warmth and a natural feel to both interiors and outdoor spaces.
History and origin
It is an imported travertine, widely available on the international market in various dark shades. Travertine is one of the most used stones in the history of Mediterranean architecture and Noce is its warmest version. Today it is much in demand for floors, façade cladding and pool surrounds. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.
Appearance
The background alternates dark brown, hazelnut and beige bands. Vein-cut it shows linear veining, cross-cut a clouded appearance; the natural cavities can be filled or left open. Honed, it looks smooth and uniform; brushed and tumbled, it becomes more rustic and aged.
Uses
Suitable for interior and exterior floors, cladding, bathrooms, stairs, terraces and pool surrounds, with non-slip finishes outdoors. Less suitable for kitchen worktops, where porosity and acid sensitivity require a great deal of care.
Care and maintenance
Clean with a neutral detergent and treat with a water- and oil-repellent to be renewed regularly, especially outdoors. Avoid acids and limescale removers. Fillings that empty over time can be restored.
