Petrographic description
Violetta is a Granite quarried in Saudi Arabia, catalogued in the Marmi di Carrara atlas under the international reference ICSAGR00098. Its dominant tone is violet & purple.
Like every granite, it is supplied as raw blocks, gangsaw slabs in 2 and 3 cm and cut-to-size pieces made in our Carrara plants. Recommended finishes: polished, honed, flamed, bush-hammered, leathered. Typical applications: kitchen worktops, exterior cladding and paving, stairs, monuments, high-traffic floors.
Availability varies with the quarry campaigns: before quoting we check current stock, block sizes and the selection grade, and we send photos of the actual slabs. Price and transport are confirmed by our technical office within one working day.
Najran Red Granite: complete guide
Overview
Najran Red is a red granite from Saudi Arabia with a warm, uniform tone, dotted with small dark crystals. Robust and low in porosity, it is a reliable choice for exteriors, paving and worktops.
History and origin
It takes its name from the Najran region, in south-western Saudi Arabia, where red and pink granites outcrop. In recent decades Saudi granites have spread across the Middle Eastern and international markets for building, street furniture and large projects. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.
Appearance
Brick-red background with a medium, regular grain, reddish feldspars and dark crystals of mica and amphibole evenly distributed. The slabs are fairly consistent with one another. Polished, the red comes alive and becomes deeper; flamed or bush-hammered, it takes on a lighter, pinkish tone with a rough, slip-resistant surface.
Uses
Outdoor paving, squares, stairs, thresholds and window sills, façades and cladding, kitchen worktops and bar tops, street furniture. It withstands frost, heavy foot traffic and temperature swings well; in bathrooms and kitchens it works well in a polished or honed finish.
Care and maintenance
Routine cleaning with water and a neutral detergent. Granite has low porosity and resists household acids; on kitchen worktops a stain-proofing treatment prevents oil marks. Outdoors, periodic washing is enough, if necessary with a low-pressure washer.
