Xisto DE Barrancos is a natural slate from Portugal, characterized by a dominant green colour that may shift to yellow, red or indigo tones. The stone exhibits a fine‑grained, lepidoblastic texture with subtle meandrous biotitic patterns and occasional veining, giving it a sophisticated, slightly variegated appearance. Its durability and low water absorption make it suitable for interior flooring, wall cladding, bathroom surfaces and outdoor paving when properly sealed. Recommended finishes are honed or brushed to highlight the natural grain while preserving slip resistance. Marmi di Carrara supplies Xisto DE Barrancos in blocks and 2‑3 cm thick slabs, cut‑to‑size, with real‑time photos of each slab before purchase.
