Burdur Brown is a Turkish limestone quarried in the Burdur region of Turkey, valued for its warm brown background crossed by lighter calcite veins. Its fine, compact grain and tonal depth make it a popular choice for interior flooring, wall cladding, bathroom surfaces and decorative features, where it brings a sober, elegant character. The stone responds well to polishing, which enriches the brown colour and highlights the veining, while honed, brushed or sandblasted finishes suit more technical or exterior applications. Marmi di Carrara supplies Burdur Brown as blocks, slabs in 2 and 3 cm thicknesses and cut-to-size pieces, with photos of the actual slabs sent before purchase.

Burdur Brown: complete guide
Overview
Burdur Brown is a Turkish marble in a warm, deep brown colour with lighter veins. It is chosen for welcoming spaces and to create contrasts with light-coloured stones.
History and origin
It comes from the province of Burdur in south-western Turkey, an area where limestones and marbles are quarried in various shades of beige and brown. It is distributed on the international market in slabs and tiles for interiors. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.
Appearance
The background is medium or dark brown, with beige, golden or white veins distributed irregularly. Colour and pattern vary between batches, from warmer to cooler tones. Polished, it looks rich and glossy; honed or antiqued, it takes on a rustic, textured appearance.
Uses
Suitable for floors, cladding, bathrooms, interior stairs, fireplaces and borders. It lends itself well to floors in combination with beige or cream marbles. Not well suited to exteriors exposed to frost or to kitchen worktops.
Care and maintenance
Clean with neutral detergents; on dark backgrounds limescale marks and acid etching are more noticeable. Apply an impregnating sealer and, on polished finishes, a protective wax. Dry standing water in bathrooms.
