Friedewalder Quarzsandstein is a natural sandstone quarried in Germany, valued for its warm beige and cream palette and its typically fine, even grain. The stone shows a soft, homogeneous appearance with subtle tonal variations rather than pronounced veining, making it a calm, understated material for both traditional and contemporary architecture. Classic applications include facades, wall cladding, flooring, steps, window sills and landscaping elements, where its durability and weathering behaviour are appreciated. Suitable finishes range from sawn and honed to sandblasted, bush-hammered and flamed surfaces. Marmi di Carrara supplies Friedewalder Quarzsandstein as blocks, slabs in 2 and 3 cm and cut-to-size pieces, with photos of the actual slabs before purchase.
