Availability varies with the quarry campaigns: before quoting we check current stock, block sizes and the selection grade, and we send photos of the actual slabs. Price and transport are confirmed by our technical office within one working day.
Serpeggiante: complete guide
Overview
Serpeggiante is a grey-beige commercial marble crossed by wavy veins that give it its name. It is chosen for a dynamic pattern in neutral tones.
History and origin
The name Serpeggiante is used on the market for calcareous materials with a characteristic pattern of sinuous veins. It is a trade name used for stones of different origins, so characteristics and shades should be checked on the lot. It is used mainly for interior floors and cladding. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.
Appearance
The background is grey-beige or light hazel, run through by lighter or darker wavy veins that interweave. The pattern changes greatly depending on the cut and the slab, with calmer areas and more lively ones. Polishing accentuates the contrast of the veins; honing makes it more uniform.
Uses
Suitable for floors, cladding, bathrooms, stairs and decorative tops. It is not well suited to heavily used kitchen worktops or to exteriors exposed to frost. It lends itself to book-matched or slip-matched layouts that show off the veining.
Care and maintenance
Neutral detergents and water; avoid acidic and abrasive products. Protect with a stain-proofing product, renewing it periodically. Remove coloured liquids and oils immediately.
