Petrographic description
Statuario Venato is a Marble quarried in Italy, catalogued in the Marmi di Carrara atlas under the international reference ICITMA00704. Its dominant tone is white.
Like every marble, it is supplied as raw blocks, gangsaw slabs in 2 and 3 cm and cut-to-size pieces made in our Carrara plants. Recommended finishes: polished, honed, brushed, sandblasted, bush-hammered (exterior). Typical applications: interior floors and walls, bathrooms, vanity tops, stairs, fireplaces, furniture and sculpture.
Availability varies with the quarry campaigns: before quoting we check current stock, block sizes and the selection grade, and we send photos of the actual slabs. Price and transport are confirmed by our technical office within one working day.
Statuario Venato marble: the complete guide
Overview
Statuario Venato is the most graphic version of Statuario: the same bright white background, but with bold grey veins that draw across the slab. It is the choice for those who want a dramatic Carrara white.
History and origin
It belongs to the Statuario family of Carrara, quarried in the Apuan Alps from the most prized beds of white marble. Where the bed is crossed by darker veins, Venato is obtained, much loved in contemporary interior architecture for book-matched walls. It is one of the exclusive materials Marmi di Carrara has selected and processed since 1956.
Appearance
A pure white background with medium to dark grey veins, often wide and dynamic, which can run across the whole slab. The contrast is stronger than in classic Statuario, so block selection is essential: we recommend seeing the slabs (even in photos) before ordering and keeping the cutting sequence for walls.
Uses
It shows best on large surfaces where the veining can be read: bathroom and shower walls, fireplace surrounds, headboards, floors of entrances and living rooms, kitchen islands and splashbacks. It lends itself to book-matched slabs and to waterjet inlays with dark marbles.
Care and maintenance
Like all Carrara whites, clean it with neutral products and protect it with a stain-proof treatment. Avoid acids and abrasives; on kitchen tops prefer a honed finish, which hides signs of use better. The polish can be restored professionally.
