Tan Brown Granite: the complete guide
Overview
Tan Brown Granite is a dark brown granite speckled with large black and reddish-brown crystals. It is chosen for practical, robust kitchen worktops in a warm tone.
History and origin
It comes from India, one of the world's largest producers of coloured granites. It is among the most widespread brown granites on the international market, appreciated for its good balance of durability, looks and cost. It is widely used in kitchens, bathrooms and paving. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.
Appearance
The background is chocolate brown, with large rounded reddish and black grains distributed fairly evenly. Variation between slabs is limited, which makes extensive worktops and floors easier. Polished, the colour is deep and brilliant; honed and flamed finishes lighten it and make it matt.
Uses
Ideal for kitchen worktops, islands, bathroom tops, floors, thresholds, windowsills and stairs, including outdoors. It is a safe choice where a lot of cooking is done, because it tolerates heat, scratches and acids.
Care and maintenance
Clean with water and neutral soap, with no need for special products. A stain-proofing impregnator applied from time to time limits the absorption of oils. The dark, granular background hides crumbs and small marks well.
