Amarillo Cobdar: complete guide
Overview
Amarillo Cobdar is a Spanish marble in warm, bright yellow-cream tones. It is chosen for welcoming interiors and for combinations with white and coloured marbles.
History and origin
The name recalls Cóbdar, a village in the province of Almería, Andalusia, an area with a marble-quarrying tradition. The yellow marbles of this area are used for floors, cladding and decoration. The tone varies with the batch, from straw yellow to cream. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.
Appearance
The yellow-cream background may show warmer or lighter hues and faint veins or patches of a different tone. Colour variability between slabs is moderate but present, so it is useful to choose a consistent batch. Polishing intensifies the yellow; honing makes it softer and more natural.
Uses
Suitable for interior floors, cladding, bathrooms, stairs, bands and inlays. Not recommended outdoors or for heavily used kitchen worktops.
Care and maintenance
Clean with neutral detergents and dry; avoid acidic or abrasive products. A stain-repellent impregnating sealer helps keep the colour even.
