Andeer is a classic Swiss granite quarried in the Alpine region of Switzerland. It displays a uniform grey background with subtle speckles of darker minerals, giving it a refined, understated elegance. The stone’s medium‑fine grain and occasional faint veining make it suitable for both polished and honed finishes, ideal for flooring, wall cladding, countertops and outdoor applications. Marmi di Carrara supplies Andeer in robust blocks and ready‑to‑install slabs of 2–3 cm thickness, offering cut‑to‑size service and high‑resolution photos of actual slabs before purchase, ensuring architects and designers can specify with confidence.

Andeer Granite: complete guide
Overview
Andeer is a Swiss stone from Graubünden with a green-grey tone and a slightly veined pattern. Sold as granite, it is geologically a gneiss, valued for its distinctive appearance and strength.
History and origin
It takes its name from the village of Andeer, in the canton of Graubünden, where this stone has been quarried and worked for a long time. It is used in Switzerland and neighbouring countries for floors, cladding, fountains, stairs and furnishings. Its green tone sets it apart from the more common grey granites. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.
Appearance
The background is grey with a green tinge, crossed by light bands and veins due to its gneissic structure. The pattern varies with the cutting direction: in one direction it is more veined, in the other more clouded. Polished, it accentuates the green; brushed or flamed, it offers a natural, soft look.
Uses
Suitable for floors, cladding, stairs, kitchen and bathroom worktops, as well as outdoor areas and fountains. Its unusual colour makes it interesting for projects looking for an Alpine stone with character. For large areas it is advisable to plan the layout of the slabs according to the pattern.
Care and maintenance
Routine cleaning with a neutral detergent. A stain-proofing protector makes caring for worktops easier. Outdoors, periodic washing and removal of any moss.
