Overview

Capão Bonito Granite is a red Brazilian granite. It is chosen for surfaces with a bold character, both indoors and outdoors.

History and origin

It comes from Brazil, where it is sold as Vermelho Capão Bonito, after the town where it is produced. It is one of the best-known Brazilian red granites. It is used for paving, façade cladding, street furniture and worktops. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.

Appearance

The background is an intense red, with pink, grey and black crystals of medium grain. The tone is fairly consistent, with slight variations between batches. Polishing gives a vivid red; flaming makes it lighter and pinker.

Uses

Suitable for outdoor paving, façades, stairs, kitchen worktops and bathrooms. Highly recommended for public spaces and street furniture. Outdoors choose flamed or bush-hammered finishes.

Care and maintenance

Clean with neutral detergents or mild degreasers. Outdoors, periodic washing is sufficient. A protector helps keep the colour of polished surfaces even.
