Gris Quintana is a grey granite quarried in Spain, appreciated for its compact, uniform appearance and medium grain size. Classified as an adamellitic granite, it shows a hypidiomorphic granular texture with a balanced blend of light and dark minerals, giving the surface a sober grey tone with subtle tonal variation and no pronounced veining. Its solidity and regular pattern make it suitable for flooring, wall cladding, kitchen worktops, stairs and outdoor paving. It performs well with polished, honed, flamed or bush-hammered finishes, depending on the intended use. Marmi di Carrara supplies Gris Quintana as blocks, slabs 2 and 3 cm thick and cut-to-size pieces, with photos of the actual slabs before purchase.

Gris Quintana Granite: complete guide
Overview
Gris Quintana is a grey granite from Extremadura, compact and with an even grain. It is a reliable working stone, suitable for both interiors and public spaces.
History and origin
The name is linked to the area of Quintana de la Serena, in Extremadura, one of the best-known granite areas in Spain. This granite is widely used in urban paving, residential construction and exterior pieces. It is available as slabs, blocks and standard formats. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.
Appearance
The background is medium grey, speckled with black mica crystals and white feldspar grains. The pattern is dense and uniform, with limited variations in tone. Polished, it looks darker and more brilliant; flamed or bush-hammered, it becomes an even light grey.
Uses
Recommended for squares, pavements, kerbs, steps, façades and high-traffic interior floors. It is also a good option for kitchen and bathroom worktops. Its neutral colour allows it to be combined with lighter or darker stones in paving patterns.
Care and maintenance
Clean with water and a neutral detergent; outdoors, wash periodically. A water-repellent treatment reduces the absorption of oil and smog. Chewing gum or grease stains can be removed with specific stone products.
