Iddefjord is a grey granite quarried in Norway, long appreciated for its uniform appearance and technical reliability. The stone shows a fine to medium grain in cool grey tones, with a subtle, even pattern and minimal veining, making it suitable for large consistent surfaces. Traditionally used for facades, paving, steps, monuments and kitchen worktops, Iddefjord performs well in both interior and exterior applications. It accepts a wide range of finishes: polished for a refined look, honed, flamed or bush-hammered for slip-resistant outdoor surfaces. Marmi di Carrara supplies Iddefjord granite as blocks, slabs 2 and 3 cm thick and cut-to-size pieces, with photos of the actual slabs before purchase.

Iddefjord Granite: complete guide
Overview
Iddefjord is a medium to fine-grained light grey Norwegian granite with pinkish hues. It is chosen for its sobriety and excellent performance outdoors.
History and origin
The name comes from the Iddefjord, the fjord on the border between Norway and Sweden, an area with a long history of granite quarrying. It is a traditional material of Nordic construction, used for kerbs, paving, steps and walls. The colour can tend more towards grey or more towards pink depending on the block. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.
Appearance
The background is light grey with pinkish or whitish feldspars and small dark minerals, evenly distributed. Variability between slabs is moderate. Polished, it looks darker and pinker; flamed or brushed, it becomes a light, natural grey.
Uses
Ideal for outdoor paving, kerbs, steps, low walls and façades. Indoors it is used for floors, thresholds and worktops with a discreet appearance.
Care and maintenance
Periodic washing with water and a neutral detergent is sufficient. A water-repellent impregnating sealer is useful on horizontal exterior surfaces to limit dirt and patina.
