Rockville Beige Granite: the complete guide
Overview
Rockville Beige Granite is an American granite from Minnesota, with a warm beige tone. It is chosen for façades, floors and memorials that require a light, warm and highly durable stone.
History and origin
It comes from Minnesota, in the St. Cloud area, a district with a long granite quarrying tradition in the United States. Granites from this region have been used for buildings, memorials and street furniture throughout North America. Rockville Beige is one of its light, warm shades. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.
Appearance
The beige background is formed by large feldspar crystals, accompanied by grey quartz and dark minerals. The grain is medium-coarse and the pattern fairly uniform, with slight variations in tone. Polished, it shows the crystals well; flamed and bush-hammered, it is lighter and matt.
Uses
Suitable for façade cladding, indoor and outdoor floors, steps, street furniture and memorials. Indoors it is used for kitchen and bathroom tops in a classic style.
Care and maintenance
Neutral detergents and water for cleaning; a water repellent on light outdoor surfaces helps against smog and stains. It does not require periodic polishing.
