Juparana Classico Granite: complete guide
Overview
Juparana Classico is the forerunner of the veined Brazilian granites, with a pinkish beige background and grey waves. It has long featured in kitchens, stairs and floors thanks to its balance of warmth and resistance.
History and origin
It comes from Brazil and is among the best-known Juparana granites in Europe. Like the other materials in this group, geologically it is a veined metamorphic rock sold as granite. Its classic appearance has made it widespread in residential construction and interiors. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.
Appearance
The pinkish beige background shows wavy grey and white veins, with dark garnets sometimes visible as small dots. Each slab has a different wave pattern, and the pink tone can also change. Polished, it shows more saturated colours, while honed or brushed it looks lighter and more natural.
Uses
Recommended for kitchen worktops, stairs, floors, cladding and bathroom tops. It also lends itself to outdoor use with a flamed or brushed finish; polished, it is best reserved for covered areas.
Care and maintenance
It requires little maintenance: neutral detergent and a soft cloth. A water- and oil-repellent treatment after installation makes cleaning easier and limits grease absorption.
