Petrographic description
Coarse-grained porphyroid granite, dominantly biotitic. The light rosy hue is determined by the tonality of the potash feldspar megacrysts. The rock features a granular hypidiomorphic texture with very slight kaolinitic alteration of the feldspars.
Rosa Faro is a Granite quarried in Portugal, catalogued in the Marmi di Carrara atlas under the international reference ICPTGR00448. Its dominant tone is pink & rose, with coarse grain and a porphyritic / granular texture.
Like every granite, it is supplied as raw blocks, gangsaw slabs in 2 and 3 cm and cut-to-size pieces made in our Carrara plants. Recommended finishes: polished, honed, flamed, bush-hammered, leathered. Typical applications: kitchen worktops, exterior cladding and paving, stairs, monuments, high-traffic floors.
